3 injured when Hong Kong shuttle bus slams into lamp post at Redhill Peninsula

Three people were injured, including a driver left trapped in his seat, when a shuttle bus serving a luxury estate in southern Hong Kong slammed into a lamp post on Sunday evening.

Police said the shuttle bus crashed on Cedar Drive at Redhill Peninsula in Tai Tam at about 6.15pm, with the driver stuck in the damaged front part of the vehicle.

The driver was said to be slipping in and out of consciousness. Firefighters attending the scene were able to free him.

Two passengers, a man and a woman, also suffered injuries.

All three were taken to Pamela Youde Nethersole Eastern Hospital in Chai Wan.

The bus appeared to have mounted the pavement before crashing into the lamp post.
